PROTECTION TRAINING

Protection Dog Training

9 month old dog being introduced to the shield. The dog is learning to work through the new obstacle and work through the stress. In this video I am also working on the recall. I'm using the recall to call the dog off of the target. Once the dog comes back to me the dog is to be re-deployed to bite again.

K9 Aggression, Stability, Obedience & Control

In this video we are demonstrating a protection training session.  When the handler puts tension on the dog's flat collar we are asking the dog to show aggression through the leash. We are using the flat collar to turn the the dog into attack mode and the prong collar to switch back into obedience. We are practicing transitioning from protection to obedience in a way that creates stability for the dog, if the dog reacts when it shouldn't the handler will tell the dog no and immediately correct this behaviour. The dog must follow the handlers command and not react unexpectedly. When the handler says sting the dog must bite the agitator. When the handler calls for obedience the dog must do obedience.

Onyx learns to target the legs

This video demonstrates a dog who is used to targeting the upper body parts of the bad guy (arm & chest area). We used a wooden shield that is made out of simple 2x4 and simple plywood to block the upper body to encourage the dog into problem solving with the result of grabbing the bad guys leg.
